2025 Bike Ride 10

It is the weekend of the 40th Tour de l’île, so Friday night was the Tour la nuit ride, which is a night of closed roads for tons of cyclists to enjoy. This year, the starting line was north of Parc Maisonneuve and it took forever to get going because late starters were joining the mass start from the side closer to the starting line than those of us to who foolishly followed the instructions.

People had so many glow sticks and different types of lights to enliven the ride. Someone with a dress jacket covered in a mesh of LEDs rode beside us for a while. The route was definitely on roads that I was unlikely to ever find myself on otherwise.

The other complaint we had was the two sections where we had to walk our bikes up and over Hwy 40, and then again at the official photo section. These two areas meant that the entire route took about an hour longer than expected.

It was a fun ride and I am looking forward to the Tour de l’île on Sunday.
