2025 Bike Ride 12

It was the 40th Tour de l’île today, so we rode, with child in her seat behind me, a bit over 70 km. It was my longest ever bike ride by a good 10 km. This year, the starting line was north of Parc Maisonneuve and we learned from the Tour la nuit on Friday to avoid getting stuck at the starting line for a long time. We arrived and immediately started riding.

The weather was threatening rain, but hardly any fell. There was, however, wind pushing us back at various points of the route. There was only one place where we had to get off our bikes and walk, but quickly were able to get back riding.

Last year, we had a few snacks but not much else with us other than water, so we brought a sandwiches, apples and cheese this year. It made a difference stopping for a picnic along the way.

The ride was fun and ended with a winding path around the Olympic stadium and up into Parc Maisonneuve.
