Transit Use 2024

The tradition of reporting transit riding established in 2014 continues. We biked a lot this summer so took transit much less, and I biked the most I ever have with 64 rides in 2024, which oddly matches my 64 rides in 2024. I counted “unofficial” transfers on the STM as two rides. My rides were paid for using: OPUS (62), and Transit App (2).

Agency Fare Media Total Rides Total Cost ($)
Big Blue Bus Transit App 2 3.08
REM OPUS 4 14.58
STM OPUS 58 188.89

Rides by Day of Week

I had no work transit rides in 2024, but I did bike to the client office one time. We took a trip to Los Angeles in April, where we rode the Big Blue Bus to Venice from the airport. We went to St John’s in October, but didn’t ride transit at all.

Rides by Month

Year over year

Weekday riding stayed low, since I walk to work.

Year-over-year Rides by Day of Week and Month

My transit use in Montreal got up to 80% of my pre-pandemic riding when I was going to the airport for work often. Biking on my cargo bike picked up most of the summer transit trips.
